And my number one song released in 2009..2009 was Grizzly Bear's year. The year they went from being a band to watch to being full blown stars in their own right. The year they released Veckatimest, my album of the year. The year Jonny Greenwood called them his favourite band in the world.
Two Weeks was the point where it all clicked into place. It was the watershed moment when everything came together just right and materialized into 4 minutes of sheer perfection on tape. The first backing vocals had me hooked at hello. I couldn't stop playing it. At least for a couple of weeks (hah). But what makes it even more special is that it was a part of one of the most beautiful albums i've heard in a while, in Veckatimest.

And with that, the list is done, and a new year has started, well belatedly. Sadly that means i'm off to school in 8 hours and the only music i'll be listening to soon are the monday blues. But i'm looking forward to another good year in music, starting with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Esplanade this tuesday! Happy (late) new year everyone :)
