The fourth studio album from Kings of Leon is due out on 22 September, and apparently its already leaked. So far the consensus seems to be its more solid, consistent fare from the Followill brothers (and cousin) with some standout rocking tracks. I guess i'll have to take a proper listen before deciding whether they've met the (to be fair) ridiculously high expectations they've been set after their first three records. I really liked their first two albums, but their third and most critically acclaimed album Because Of The Times was kind of a mixed bag for me. Yeah they 'progressed' with their sound and there were some cracking songs on there, but i felt it lost steam towards the end and it never felt as fun listening to it as with the first two albums, i guess because they did away with the Southern feel for a cleaner, more cutting edge sound. They've however been quoted saying this album will 'tackle their southern roots again'.
