I watched "My Girl" again recently, which was one of me and my sister's favourite shows when we were young, such a terribly sad show though haha. Anyway it reminded me of this song, albeit from the sequel (which sucked), and i've rediscovered its magic. Its funny because I'd never heard a CSNY song, and I never knew this was by them. Worse, I didn't know the Young in CSNY was Neil Young..
Besides having this strange nostalgic feeling for me, it is just such a simple, beautiful song. The vocal harmonies, the piano part, the straightforward lyrics about love and making a home that should seem cheesy but don't. From their acclaimed album Deja Vu, its about Graham Nash's brief relationship with Joni Mitchell and how he felt at that time. In that sense, the songs actually quite sad, how the lyrics portray something so perfect yet the listener knows how the relationship turned out in the end.
