Neil Young - Fork In The Road

Okay, I can't believe i missed the news that theres going to be a new Neil Young album out. It's out April 7, it's called Fork In The Road. Even if i haven't been completely obsessed with his recent work (as i've been with his earlier work), i'm still very excited for this. Apparently alot of the album is inspired by Neil's newly upgraded Lincoln Continental convertible, which was made to run completely independent of fuel by a Jonathan Goodwin (Johnny Magic of the album it seems)

There are 5 videos of new songs on his website here, most are youtube style solo videos though, the one for the single Fork In The Road is hilarious, i've never really seen this side of Neil. The song itself is abit different to what i'm used to of him, but has an instantly catchy riff thats repeated with Neil matter-of-factly quipping some lashingly funny lyrics about the state of the American economy, with a straight face too mind you. For example, 'There's a bailout coming but it's not for me, it's for all those creeps watching tickers on TV. There's a bailout coming but it's not for you, it's for all those creeps hiding what they do.' Well said, Neil, well said. 'Johnny Magic' is quite catchy as well, and 'Light a Candle' seems pretty and abit more like what I'm used to. 'Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle for where we're goin' Beautiful. Can't wait for this album.
