This will be a quick but important post. Sigur Rós' new album is out. And it is beautiful.
Just got the mp3s and i'm just finishing the first play through the whole album, so this is still first impression-ish, but it is so, so beautiful. Like what everyone is saying, its definitely different from their previous works, especially Takk, but that sure as heck doesn't mean its not good. It's much more laid back, and its like they've got a new perspective yet are still they're contemplative selves. There're still the epic, Sigur Rós moments, my favourite of which is Festival. The album doesn't feel like it will have the same kind of impact like Agaetis Byrjun had, but maybe i'm shortchanging it on the first listen, don't know yet.
What i know is, i'm looking forward to more listens, and having a copy too.
