But someone's listening

Here's a song that'll definitely get you through the week. From the Bowie's 1977 avant garde classic "Low" (which is slowly overtaking Ziggy as my favourite Bowie album) comes Sound and Vision. Being irresistably catchy after a couple of listens, it initially sounds like the standout token pop single for the radio fans, from the definitive experimental Bowie album.

But on further plays and closer inspection, every layer seems to come alive. The impossibly happy country guitar, the synthesizer ringing triumphantly, then the cryptic lyrics delivered perfectly with alternate amounts of oomph and paranoia by Bowie in contrasting styles. You play it once more and suddenly you hear the subtle bass and gasp "oh!" Magic.
