Christopher O'Riley - Paranoid Android

My track of the moment. I've heard about his Radiohead covers often but never really got to listening to them. I have to say though, when I put this on, I was astounded. Radiohead's epic gets a orchestral makover from this great classical pianist. While its only him playing the piano, the song still feels so lush and full, and he gives the song a floaty quality, turning the titular riff almost dreamy, yet still retaining the intensity and menace of the original. He doesn't so much change the structure of the song though, retaining the sudden shifts between the three sections of the song.

He has two full albums containing Radiohead covers, True Love Waits and Hold Me To This as well as his classical albums. I'm definitely getting at least one of those cds, from what I've heard so far, his songs are thoroughly enjoyable and give new insights into Radiohead's songs, despite keeping fairly faithful to the source material. I've added another song i got off his website, a cover of All I Need, a fairly straightforward run through the song but I like how he works in the vocal melody as well.
