Leave them kids alone

A small collection of my favourite golden oldies. It amazes me how so much great music was written in say, the 60's and 70's, it's sometimes overwhelmingly too much to explore and catch up on. The modern era almost seems to pale in comparison. Of course, some say everything is better appreciated in hindsight so maybe the artists of the now may be as heralded in the future, who knows. Enjoy.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb / Spine-tingling is all i will say.
Pink Floyd - Us and Them / Epic musing about the futility of war, it's almost prophetic.

R.E.M. - Love is All Around (Live) / Live version of their cover of The Troggs' classic. The pretty violin girl performed this at DXO the other night haha.
R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts / Stark, beautiful anti-suicide ballad. Everybody hurts, take comfort in your friends..

Neil Young - After The Goldrush / Piano ballad about the environment dying. Look at Mother Nature on the run.. prophetic again.

The Beatles - In My Life / Special song to me, reminds me of the Champions League final in 2005 cause they used it in the TV montage.
The Beatles - Let It Be /

The Pixies - Debaser / My favourite Pixies song, from the legendary pioneers of the loud-soft dynamic that inspired Nirvana and some early Radiohead.

Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon / Haunting song about a Welsh mythical goddess. Stevie Nicks at her best, both vocally and lyrically.

Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight / Classic blues by Slowhand, its a narrative about him and Pattie Boyd going to a party one night, makes you all fuzzy.

Bob Dylan - Like A Rolling Stone / Voted the number one song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Someone, i think it was Springsteen, was quoted saying the snare shot "sounded like someone had kicked open the door to your mind".
