Acoustic Heaven

Another collection of songs based on a theme. Today it's acoustic songs. There's just something about the honesty of an acoustic guitar. I love it when grand songs are broken apart, stripped bare into an acoustic version, it brings out a different quality from the song that gets me everytime.

Bob Marley - Redemption Song (Live) /
Bob Marley - Acoustic Medley / A 12 minute medley consisting of a string of his best songs, from Guava Jelly to Stir It Up to I'm Hurting Inside. Bob Marley at his earnest, heart wrenching best.

Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now / Such sad lyrics, yet such a pretty song. This gets me thinking too much sometimes.

Jeff Buckley - Jewel Box / Surely one of the prettiest he ever wrote, a love song with dark undertones. Not exactly acoustic, but i included it anyway.

Matchbox Twenty - Disease (Acoustic) / Rob Thomas gives this one a much more sinister tone than the album version, love it.

Bob Dylan - Blowin' In The Wind / To me, an epiphany in audio. Epic in the truest sense of the word.

Eric Clapton - Layla (Unplugged) / Plenty of oldies tonight. This is a good oldie though. This one has drums and piano too, i'm not exactly sticking to the theme too well..

Rogue Wave - California / Simple and melodic.

Radiohead - Gagging Order /
Radiohead - Reckoner (Acoustic on Jonathan Ross show) / Stripped down, yet as almost as beautiful and lush as the full band version. I love the complexity and textures of Radiohead's songs, but sometimes the simple ones remind me how amazing Thom's voice really is. Because we seperate.. makes my hair stand.
